“My focus is on creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere where people feel safe to explore and experiment with movement. Most importantly I try not to take myself too seriously and think it’s important to have a laugh while learning.”

To me Pilates is the movement that you do to support the movement you require or want to do to live your best life. I first discovered Pilates while rehabilitating a knee injury. At that time I was competing as an Irish dancer and making a good recovery was essential to my sport. I found that it not only helped my recovery but also improved my performance on stage. Initially, I trained in Matwork Pilates with Health and Fitness Education in London, and then started working with community classes, one-to-one sessions, and also teaching pilates for children.

Returning to Australia in 2018 I continued my training with the Pilates Training Institute in Perth, Western Australia where I completed a Matwork and Reformer certificate. I love that Pilates can be adapted for everybody and that it complements and enriches other movement practices, whether that’s yoga, dance, or sporting activities. My focus is on creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere where people feel safe to explore and experiment with movement. Most importantly I try not to take myself too seriously and think it’s important to have a laugh while learning.
